My First Day Out RevealHow I Prepped to Feel Comfortable in My New Body

Hey, Bleu Bells!

So, I did it. I finally had my first real outing since giving birth to my beautiful Sariah, and let me just say – it wasn’t as scary as I had built it up to be! But don’t get me wrong; it took some serious prep for me to feel confident enough to step out into the world with this brand-new body.

Let me take you behind the scenes of getting ready because, trust me, it wasn’t as simple as throwing on some clothes and heading out the door. Let’s break it down together, step-by-step!

Step 1: Moral Support, Baby!

Before anything else, I needed my friends on standby – a hype squad, if you will. I immediately texted my girls, letting them know that I was going out, and the flood of pictures started pouring into our group chat. Listen, when you’re adjusting to a new body, having your tribe’s validation is EVERYTHING! There’s nothing like that boost of encouragement to let you know you’re on the right track. And honestly, that moral support calmed my nerves and gave me the little nudge I needed to start planning my look.

My friend immediately said NO lol you are not going to work!

I’ve been waiting to wear these socks!!!

Step 2: The Closet Run-Through

Lucky for me, the outing was for an all-black party. Thank goodness for the magic of black – it’s the ultimate confidence-booster for hiding those areas that make you feel insecure. For me, that was my stomach. I rummaged through my closet for tight-fitting clothes that would suck in the belly and love handles. I’ll be real with you – it was the first time I had to admit to myself that I’m still working on getting comfortable with certain areas. But you know what? Finding an outfit that embraced my new shape instead of hiding it made all the difference.

Step 3: The Outfit Try-On Session

Yes, I did it – I filmed my outfit try-on session! Not just to share on my channel, but also to have a visual reminder of where I’m starting from in this journey. I know I’ll want to look back and see how far I’ve come, and capturing that moment felt like such a big milestone. Plus, it gave me a chance to have some fun with it and get my creative juices flowing again!

Step 4: The Jewelry Moment

I’m a vintage girl at heart, and that’s not going to change just because my body has. I picked out jewelry that stayed true to my signature vintage style – pieces that made me feel like me. The key to feeling comfortable was keeping things familiar while adding a little twist to make me feel like I was embracing this new chapter. It’s amazing how much the right accessories can elevate your confidence!

Step 5: Styling with Confidence

Listen, my body has definitely changed, but my love for vintage fashion hasn’t gone anywhere. So, I styled myself with pieces that honored my personal taste. I didn't force myself to wear something that didn’t align with who I am. My Bleu Rule? Never change who you are – just modify to fit where you are now. I made slight adjustments without abandoning the essence of what I love.

Step 6: The Final Approval

No way was I leaving the house without a final check-in from my girlfriends! I needed that last bit of confirmation that I was ready to face the world. Once I got their thumbs up, I took a deep breath and stepped out with my head held high. And guess what? I survived – and dare I say, I even enjoyed myself!

My Takeaway: Modify, Don’t Change

Let me tell you, Bleu Bells – this journey is about accepting who you are, not trying to fit a mold of who you were before. It’s about spicing up what you’ve always loved and feeling comfortable in your own skin, even if that skin looks a little different than it used to. My body may not be exactly where I want it yet, but I'm not letting that stop me from enjoying my life.

Here’s my challenge to you: Don’t shy away from what makes you feel good. Keep your style, your vibe, and your essence – just modify it to fit your new normal. Remember, it’s not easy, but it’s absolutely necessary. 💙
