Welcome to Talk It Out with Shay

Welcome to Talk It Out with Shay — where real life, real conversations, and a little pep talk meet.

By Shay | Shaybleu.com | 5-minute read

Girl, can we talk?

Like, REALLY talk?

Not the “Hey girl, how you doing?” kind of talk where you automatically respond, “I'm good,” even though you have approximately 47 things going on in your head.

I'm talking about the kind of conversation where you can say, “Girl, I don't even know where to start,” and somebody responds, “Well, start wherever. I'm listening.”

Because sometimes life is just LIFE-ING.

You're working. You're raising kids. You're trying to figure out your career. You're dealing with relationships, money, responsibilities, and a whole bunch of decisions that nobody prepared you for.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, you're trying to figure out what the hell YOU want.

Whew.

And don't let somebody ask you what your five-year plan is.

Girl, I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing next Tuesday lol.

But seriously.

I've been thinking about how much we carry around in our heads without ever actually saying it out loud.

Not because we don't have people in our lives.

Sometimes we have plenty of people around us.

But not everyone needs to know everything. And sometimes the people closest to us already have an opinion about what we should do.

And sometimes?

We don't need another opinion. We just need someone to listen.

That's exactly why I created Talk It Out with Shay.

First, Let Me Introduce Myself

Hey, I'm Shay!

And welcome to my little corner of the internet called Shaybleu. Now, before we go any further, let me make something clear.

I'm not sitting here pretending I've figured life out. Hell, half the time I'm trying to figure out my own shit.

I'm a woman navigating motherhood, career decisions, relationships, goals, responsibilities, and all the unexpected turns life likes to throw at us. Some weeks I'm feeling productive, focused, and ready to conquer the world.

Other weeks?

I'm sitting in my car wondering why I have 15 things on my to-do list and absolutely no desire to do any of them. And sometimes I'm doing everything I'm supposed to be doing, but still asking myself:

Am I actually going in the direction I want my life to go?

That's real life.

And that's what I want to talk about.

Not the perfectly edited version.

Not the version where every problem ends with some inspirational quote.

The REAL version.

The one where we're still figuring it out.

So, What Is Talk It Out with Shay?

Talk It Out with Shay is my podcast on Spotify, but it's also becoming something a little more personal.

Every week, I share a conversation about something I've worked through in my own life.

And I always start with one question:

“What did Shay have to talk through this week?”

Because before I can sit here talking about what somebody else should do, I have to be willing to look at my own decisions.

Sometimes it's career.

Sometimes it's relationships.

Sometimes it's money.

Sometimes it's motherhood, personal goals, starting over, or realizing I'm trying to do way too damn much.

And sometimes it's just me having to tell myself:

Girl, get your shit together. But also, give yourself a minute.

Both things can be true.

The podcast isn't about me telling you how to live.

It's about sharing the conversations we don't always have out loud.

Maybe you hear something that makes you laugh.

Maybe something makes you think.

Maybe you're listening while driving home, and you say, “Damn, Shay. I'm going through that exact same thing.”

And maybe you realize you're not the only person trying to figure something out.

That's the kind of connection I want Shaybleu to create.

But Then I Started Thinking... What If We Actually Talked?

Because here's the thing.

Listening to a podcast is one thing.

Reading a blog is another.

But sometimes you have something going on in YOUR life, and you just want to talk to somebody about it.

Not schedule a whole intervention.

Not explain your entire life story.

Not have somebody analyze every decision you've made since 2012.

Girl, I just need a minute to talk!Maybe you're thinking about changing careers, but you're scared to make the move. Maybe you're frustrated in a relationship, and you're not even sure what you're frustrated about anymore.

Maybe you're a mom who's tired of being everybody's everything.

Maybe you've made a decision that other people don't understand.

Or maybe you've got an idea you've been sitting on for years, and you just need to talk it out.

Whatever it is, sometimes you need a conversation without feeling like you're being graded on your life choices.

No judgment about your past. No judgment about your lifestyle. No judgment about where you are right now.

You don't have to convince me that your feelings make sense.

You don't have to pretend you've made every decision correctly.

You don't even have to know what you want to do next. We can just TALK IT OUT.

Introducing Free Talk It Out with Shay Conversations 🎙️

So, I'm opening up something new through Shaybleu.

Free, intentional one-on-one conversations with me.

Yep. Free.

Not a sales pitch in disguise.

Not a coaching package.

Just two people having a real conversation.

You can connect via Cal video or Google Meet whatever feels most comfortable.

And depending on what you need to talk about, you can choose how much time we spend together.

Deep 30 —

“Girl, Let Me Tell You What's Going On.”

30 minutes. Free.

This is for when you've got something on your mind and need a little space to talk it through.

Maybe you're trying to figure out one situation.

Maybe you need another perspective.

Maybe you've been overthinking something all week, and you're ready to get it out of your head.

We'll talk, reflect, ask a few questions, and see what comes up.

No pressure to leave with a perfect solution.

Sometimes the conversation itself is what you needed.

Real 55 —

“Girl... We Need Some Time for This One.”

55 minutes. Free.

Because sometimes there's MORE to the story.

You know those conversations where you start with one thing, and 20 minutes later you're saying:

“Okay, but let me tell you what happened BEFORE that.”

Exactly.

Real 55 gives us more room to talk through what's happening, explore different perspectives, and think about what your next step could look like.

We don't have to rush to a conclusion.

We don't have to solve everything in one conversation.

And we definitely don't have to pretend life is simpler than it is.

No judgment. No pressure. Just time to talk it out.

Now, Let Me Be Clear About Something

I am not a therapist.

I'm not offering therapy, professional counseling, financial advice, or clinical life coaching.

And I'm not here to tell you whether you should leave your relationship, quit your job, or make some major life decision.

Those decisions belong to you.

If something requires professional support, that's important, too.

What I'm offering is an informal, intentional conversation.

Think of it as talking with a new friend who isn't already involved.

Someone who can listen without taking sides.

Someone who might ask:

“Okay, but what do YOU actually want?”

Or:

“Girl, why do you keep saying you want something different but doing the same thing?”

And sometimes I might be sitting there thinking, Damn, I needed to ask myself that question too.

Because I'm not above any of this.

I'm living life right alongside you.

And that's what makes these conversations meaningful to me.

We're not here to judge each other's journeys.

We're here to give each other a little room to figure things out.

Sometimes You Already Know What You Need to Do

Here's something I've been learning about myself.

Sometimes I'm not actually confused.

Sometimes I know exactly what I need to do.

I just haven't gotten comfortable with doing it yet.

Or I'm scared.

Or I'm overthinking.

Or I keep adding 25 more things to my plate instead of focusing on the one thing that could actually move me forward.

Sound familiar?

One of my recent podcast conversations was about asking myself:

“Shay, what can you ACTUALLY do?”

Not what do I want to accomplish in my imaginary perfect life.

Not what can I do when everything finally settles down.

What can I realistically commit to right now?

And that one question helped me recognize how often I confuse being busy with making progress.

See, this is why I love talking things through.

Sometimes you don't need somebody to give you the answer.

You need a moment to hear the answer you've been avoiding.

And sometimes you genuinely don't know the answer yet.

That's okay too.

You don't have to figure everything out today.

This Is More Than a Podcast. It's a Conversation.

My hope is that Shaybleu becomes a space you actually look forward to visiting.

Not because I'm going to tell you how to fix your life every week.

Girl, no. 😂

But because you know you're going to get something real.

A conversation that feels familiar.

A story that makes you think.

A little laughter.

Maybe a few curse words.

And hopefully a reminder that you're allowed to be a work in progress while you're still building a life you enjoy.

Every week, you can listen to Talk It Out with Shay on Spotify.

And right here on Shaybleu.com, I'll share the blog version of those conversations, along with personal reflections, questions, and little pep talks you can take into your week. So whether you're listening in the car, reading during your lunch break, or scheduling a conversation because something's been sitting on your mind...

There's a place for you here.

Before You Go, Let Me Ask You Something

What's something you've been holding in because you haven't found the right person to talk to about it?

Not necessarily some big, dramatic secret.

Maybe it's just a thought.

A decision.

An idea.

A frustration.

A dream you haven't said out loud yet.

What would it feel like to talk about it without defending yourself?

You don't have to answer that publicly.

Just think about it.

And if you feel like talking it out, you know where to find me.

Because sometimes you don't need another plan.

You don't need another checklist.

You don't need another person telling you what you should have done differently.

Sometimes you just need a little pep talk.

And sometimes you just need somebody to say:

“Girl, tell me what's going on.”

I'm listening.

With love, laughs, and a little real talk,
